The sky over Melbourne is stubbornly grey
A fine drizzle falls on an overcast day.
The sharp
biting wind is beginning to blow
Putting on a real wintery show.
Oh
that Melbourne chill gives a full-body shiver
My warm woollen scarf is a real life-giver.
Pull down my beanie
put on more layers
This weather's a test for the true city stayers.
I wait for the tram to escape from the weather
A gust down an alley pulls us all together.
The streetlights all glisten on each passing car
Reflecting in a puddle that looks like a star.
The dark
flowing Yarra is moody and deep
Got promises that I intend to keep.
To find a hot espresso
a comforting brew
And watch the world pass from a cosy
warm view.
